The majority of the appliances mentioned below are removable. The same type appliances can also be designed to be bonded in place, to overcome compliance problems. All of the appliances are available in a variety of colours and designs.

Upper and lower E-Regaining Appliances Designed to regain lost arch length through early loss of deciduous teeth.		Upper and lower Schwarz Appliances Designed to increase the transverse width of the arches.

Upper Schwarz / Sagittal Designed to increase both the width and the arch length.	Lower Jackson Designed to increase the arch width and the arch length.	Upper Sagittal Designed to increase the arch length.	Upper 3D Schwarz Designed to increase both the transverse width and the arch length.

Nord Appliance Designed to widen one quadrant of the arch.	Upper 3D with Frankel Pads Used to develop the overall size of the upper arch and generally used in conjunction with a reverse pull headgear to advance the entire maxilla.	Rapid Palatal Expander Designed to widen the arch, which actually splits the midline suture.	RN-Sagittal Designed to increase both the transverse width and the arch length.

Upper and lower Crozat Appliances Used only in the permanent dentition to increase the transverse width of the upper or lower arches.		Upper and lower A.L.F. Appliances Designed to increase both the transverse width and also the arch length. These are the latest "state of the art" appliances, constructed of a very light, resilient, springy wire, and attached to very retentive cribs by means of gold solder.

Class III Labial Bow

Used on the lower arch to retain the arch width as well as allow for intra-oral class III mechanics.

Twin Block Appliance

Designed to increase arch width upper or lower, and also to advance the mandible into a more forward position.

Frankel III Appliance

Designed to control mandibular growth whilst advancing the maxillary dentition.

Bionator

Designed to change lower jaw position, both the vertical and horizontal planes.

Bite Advancing Twin Block

Where the skeletal overjet is increased this design allows for continuous advancement.

Spring Hawley Retainers

An active retainer, ie. teeth can be mildly reset to align and then held and retained in this position.
